3 Ways To Instantly Reduce Stress During A Busy Work Day

Stress happens to the best of us. As a matter of fact, it happens to all of us. As long as we have tasks to mark off our daily to-do lists, jobs to tend to, and families to support, encountering something that is completely out of control will be inevitable. Sometimes we forget to give our mind, body, and soul the TLC they truly deserve in order to function to their absolute best. The following three suggestions will immediately reduce stress by calming us down, putting us at ease, and helping us to refocus during a hectic work day.



1. Take a walk.

Oxygen is absolutely necessary for healthy brain function, so if you have been cooped up inside a cubicle all day, take a few minutes to walk around the building. If your office space does not have windows, step outside into the elements for a quick breath of fresh air. Close your eyes, feel the wind brush across your face. Allow your mind to declutter and think about absolutely nothing, if even for just a few minutes in between a full day of meetings and phone calls.


Sip Tea


2. Sip some chamomile tea. 

Keep a box of chamomile in your desk or the office kitchen. This herb acts as a natural relaxant, proven to reduce stress and anxiety levels in the body. If tea is not your thing, purchase a lavender and chamomile pillow mist (like this one from Bath & Body Works) and spritz it around your work area for instant soothing relief.



3. Pray.

There are irrelevant, miniscule details in the day that just don’t deserve as much credit as we give them. This is where prayer and meditation comes into play. Give God at least a couple of minutes out of every hour (if not, more) by giving thanks and simply letting go of unnecessary things that may be out of your control.

    Its funny b/c I always do all three especially right before I walk through those office doors. That is how I start it off….than I have my tea and on my 1st 15 min break I take a walk. Steps repeated in the afternoon as we’ll returning back from lunch thanking God for a peaceful morning. Than I have another tea at 2:30 and then afternoon break another walk. I can honestly say it works wonders for me.
